In a major update for CSS aspirants, the Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) has officially announced a change in the schedule for the CSS MPT (MCQ-Based Preliminary Test) 2027. Originally scheduled for September 27, the screening test will now be conducted on Sunday, October 10, 2026.
Why the Rescheduling Matters
With the online registration window having just closed on August 20, 2026, thousands of candidates have been anxiously awaiting updates. This two-week extension provides a valuable window for last-minute revisions. Remember, passing the MPT is mandatory to sit for the main CSS written examination in 2027; failing this screening test disqualifies you from the cycle.
How to Download Your Admission Certificate
FPSC does not send physical roll number slips to candidates. You must download your admission certificate online once they are issued (typically two weeks before the exam):
- Visit the official FPSC website (fpsc.gov.pk).
- Look for the "CSS MPT 2027 Admission Certificates" link.
- Enter your CNIC number to view and download your slip.
- Important: You must print this certificate and bring it to the exam center along with your original CNIC and the original treasury receipt (challan/PSID proof).
MPT 2027 Syllabus & Passing Criteria
The CSS MPT consists of 200 MCQs (1 mark each) to be completed in 200 minutes. There is no negative marking, so you should attempt all questions. To qualify for the written exam, you must score at least 33% (66 out of 200 marks).
Here is the subject-wise breakdown of the MPT syllabus:
- General Abilities: 60 Marks (Basic math, algebra, geometry, logical reasoning)
- English: 50 Marks (Vocabulary, grammar, comprehension)
- General Knowledge: 50 Marks (Everyday science, current affairs, Pakistan affairs)
- Islamic Studies (or Civics & Ethics for Non-Muslims): 20 Marks
- Urdu: 20 Marks (Grammar, usage, translation)
