Share & Print:

Overview & Regulatory Framework

The Disparity Reduction Allowance (DRA) was introduced by the Federal Government to bridge the widening salary gap between employees of the federal secretariat and attached departments versus those in autonomous bodies or specialized cadres. Governed by the Finance Division, the allowance aims to ensure financial equity. As per various Office Memorandums (OMs) issued since 2021, the DRA is calculated on the current basic pay of the 2017 Pay Scales.
